ABOUT US Ben Ruwe founded Superior Janitor Supply in 1960. Ben previously worked as a route driver for his father's laundry business, Superior Linen Co., and often peddled mops and brooms on the side as he made his stops in various factories to pick up uniforms to be washed. Ben was only one of many siblings who worked at the laundry, and as a result probably would have remained a route driver for the company if he had not seen this opportunity to start his own business. At the age of forty-three, Ben ventured full time into the janitor supply business. He continued working until his late eighties, and passed away in 2003. Superior Janitor Supply, Inc. is now owned and operated by Ben's daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Larry Lamping. Superior Janitor Supply grew from its beginnings in mops and brooms to being one of the largest suppliers of commercial maintenance products in the Greater Cincinnati area.
